Monaco coach Didier Deschamps will opt for all-out attack when the French side take their 3-1 Champions League semi-final lead over Chelsea into the second leg next month.

"We have a two-goal advantage but we will not defend, we will attack," said Deschamps who will be returning to Stamford Bridge where he won the FA Cup as a player four years ago.

The 1998 World Cup winner, who has tasted Champions League glory with Marseille and Juventus, will not be fooled by Claudio Ranieri's mind games ahead of the May 4 return.

"I know Claudio says his team now only have a 20 percent chance of making the final, but he is a very intelligent man and coach. He will try to put pressure on us by saying such things, but as far as I am concerned, our chances are no more than 51 percent."

Monaco won a thrilling first leg here on Tuesday despite being reduced to 10 men when Andreas Zikos was sent-off after a scuffle which Claude Makelele made the most of.

Deschamps refused to change his tactics - either when he was a man short or when Ranieri replaced defender Mario Melchiot with striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

"After the red card, my team showed they had resources that even I didn't know they had. Their powers were extraordinary and I didn't want to stop them from attacking," the former France captain said.

"They had an extra striker but in a way that was beneficial to us because I knew our defence was strong."

Deschamps praised Fernando Morientes, loaned out by Real Madrid last summer to make way for David Beckham on the Bernabau payroll.

Morientes took his Champions League tally to eight for the season with the second goal on Tuesday, the 25th of his career.

"He is a great player who had a great match," said Deschamps.

"He is a model for the others in the team. He knows all about the Champions League and can pull the other players along with him."
