Wanna watch Dangerboy gleam the cube?

I thought not.

Oh well, then I guess I won't share with you just how cool Tony Hawk 3 on the Game Cube really is.

Okay I will.

It's fantastic. It has graphics that match, if not pass the PS2 version thanks to a lack of jaggies. Fast loading times, excellent create-a-skater options, all new challenges and missions like impressing other skaters and all new tricks and gap challenges to make any skater happy. If you've read the PS2 review then I won't bother with the rest of those pesky details and such, since they're all the same.

Instead, we'll focus on the Game Cube controller, which was going full stride up until I put this game in.

Nintendo's decision to reshape the B button into a circle, rather than keep the bean shape and closer alignment like its brothers X and Y now proves to be a fatal error. The lower location also means that those used to landing where the PSOne's Square button should be will get rewarded with a plastic shell. This gets extremely frustrating, and forces the player to completely relearn their combos, or face a gaming session using only the Y button.

That problem aside, if I had to pick between the PS2 version and the GC edition, I'd have to say I'd pick the Game Cube version. Controller aside, it just felt better than the PS2 version.
